The Association of Free Community Papers is ICMA's sister association, based in the USA. The AFCP represents publishers of nearly 3,000 free-circulation community papers, reaching nearly 45 million homes weekly.

Like ICMA, the AFCP organises conferences to bring its members together so they can network and learn from each other. The AFCP's Annual Conference and Trade Show taking place in Tuscon, Arizona, 22 - 24 April, 2010.

The AFCP also operates the National Advertising Network, Inc. (NANI) which is the largest national classified advertising network in the country, offering advertisers a convenient, one-stop opportunity to advertise products and services in shoppers and community newspapers.
ICMA members who participate in PHOENIX, the international ad-exchange (now run by Joshua,) can sell ads into the NANI network and keep the revenue generated.
