The Old and the New - Touring the Distillery District on a Segway |
|
Find yourself immersed in the historic scenery, exploring and learning
about the area, while on a Segway, the ride of the future! After a
short supervised training session, you can discover Toronto's unique
Distillery Historic District, the former Gooderham and Worts
Distillery, Canada's first licensed, and at one time the largest
distillery in the British Empire. When Hiram Walker stopped making
spirits at the Gooderham & Worts site in Toronto, it left 44
remarkably preserved distilleries, barrel houses, cooperages and
pumphouses. These days it houses everything from art galleries to
handmade-jewellery shops, all in a spirited pedestrian scene. |

Dinner at the CN Tower |
|
Yes, on Friday 12 May we will have dinner on top of the CN Tower. We
will wine and dine at the 360 Restaurant, which has a magnificent
revolving view of Toronto more than 350 metres below. From the
beginning we wanted to have dinner at the CN Tower, the most
Torontonian symbol of them all. But so did everyone else and they
couldn't fit us in. However, a cancellation worked in our favour and so
prepare yourself for a rotation restaurant, great food and a fantastic
view from the tallest building in the world! |

SPECIAL - Day trip to Niagara Falls |
|
Your time in Toronto would not be complete without a visit to the most
beautiful of the world's seven natural wonders - Niagara Falls! The
Falls are truly a Canadian jewel and the thunder draws people from all
over the world. Six million cubic feet (168,000 cubic metres) of water
crashes over the Horseshoe Falls Crestline every minute! Upon arrival
in Niagara, enjoy a historical ride aboard the world famous Maid of the
Mist. This powerful diesel-engine boat will cruise past the base of the
American Falls, and then on to the basin of the magnificent Canadian
Horseshoe Falls. Water rushes all around as you "soak" in the
excitement and feel the thunder of the Falls. It's a thrill of a
lifetime! After this fabulous boat ride we will visit the picturesque,
19th century town of Niagara-on-the Lake. One of the oldest settlements
in Ontario, the town has been restored beautifully to depict its
heritage and there'll be plenty of time for sight-seeing and shopping.
Niagara Falls is truly special - it's a fantastic way to end the
weekend and the GM! |
Tickets for the Niagara Falls trip are separate from the General Meeting Registration
Fee.
