Mobile web usage has increased to the point that the classifieds industry can no longer afford to ignore it. The shift is being fueled by faster mobile broadband connections and cheaper data service in the wealthier countries, and a large increase in developing nations where people have skipped over purchasing PCs and gone straight to mobile. This session will welcome publishers who have successfully implemented mobile strategies in their respective countries.

11.45 – 12.45 Vendor Round Tables Networking Session with a twist!

After the success of the Speed Networking session in Dublin we have taken the feedback from all attendees expressing the largest benefit was the vendor/publisher connections therefore this session will allow 5-8 publishers per table 5 minutes to exchange business cards and be briefed on the vendors best case study before the bell rings indicating it’s time to move onto the next vendor!  The best all around vendor presentation (timely, informational, beneficial etc.) will be voted on by the publishers and the winning vendor will be awarded a speaking slot at the next ICMA conference!

The aim is to ‘get behind’ the numbers and really understand what business decisions and strategies can impact these key markers.

Participants will be asked to submit in advance some easily-established business metrics relating to the principal areas of their online business. These will be shared with the session attendees, and then discussed in small groups, so that participants can quiz the star performers on how they have achieved their results, and in turn share their best practices with the group.

This will take place in two sessions (90 minutes then 60 minutes) informal and relaxed forum alongside a parallel sales and technology managers track.

At the ICMA Vienna Conference,  November 2010,  we challenged the Business Operations Forum attendees to build a classifieds website in 5 hours.  The session was a huge success with the attendees learning many new ideas that were implemented to their own respective businesses upon return to the office.  As the technology changes so must we – therefore we are revisiting this challenge in the form of mobile!  That’s right – attendees must bring their best ideas to the table to build a mobile site in less than 5 hours!
