Travel upon arrival in Tallinn
The most convenient way of getting to the hotel from the airport is taking a taxi. Taxi’s are available in front of the arrivals hall. The journey takes approximately 15 minutes and would cost around EEK 150 (approx. EUR 10).
The price list for taxi services is determined by the taxi operator; that is, prices are not uniform for all taxis. In order to avoid misunderstandings, be sure that the approximate cost of the trip to your destination is clear in advance.
You will need to pay in the local currency Estonian Kroon, so please exchange money beforehand.
Helpful Taxi Tips
1. Take a close look at the yellow price list, which is posted on the right side rear door. Here you will find rates for the base fare (approx. 35 – 70 Estonian Kroons); the per-kilometre charge; daytime charge used from 6 am to 11 pm, and a nighttime charge used from 11 pm – 6 am (both usually 8 -15 Estonian Kroons/km). Anything over these rates is high.
2. Make sure the taxi driver holds an operator’s card – a white plastic card with the driver’s photo and name, attached to the middle of the dashboard.
3. Make sure the taxi’s meter is turned on.
4. It’s illegal for the driver to smoke or to allow others to smoke in the taxi.
5. The driver is not allowed to ask for more than what is on the meter.
6. Ask the driver for a receipt from the meter’s printer. If the meter or printer is out of order, the driver should not be in service and you have the right to refuse to pay the fare.
There is also a public bus service is available from the airport to the city centre, departing every 20 minutes.
The hotel offers one way and/or round trip airport transfers for EUR 26 and EUR 45 respectively. Please contact the hotel directy to arrange this transfer Tallinn@swissotel.com.
Over night valet parking is available at the cost of EUR 25.
