From there he moved to the first major global search engine, AltaVista, as a Senior Account Manager, looking after the online advertising requirements of leading European brands such as Lloyds TSB, Nat West, BT, BMW and Virgin Atlantic as well as managing agency relationships with many of the leading full service advertising agencies and digital specialists, such as i-level, Profero, Carat, Mediacom, Starcom and Zenith Optimedia.

He joined Spannerworks in 2003 and is the Head of Business Development for the agency, leading the new business team and presenting Spannerworks’ world leading search engine marketing, social media and strategic content solutions to major global brands. Margus Tomberg joined Sanoma Group in April 2005 to lead Estonia’s biggest classified paper and popular internet site Kuldne Börs. Before entering the media business Margus had over ten years sales and marketing experience in the fast moving consumer goods business in the Baltics. In past years under Margus’s management Kuldne Börs has turned around from a “seen better days” paper publisher to a growing internet focused classified service.

In spring 2007 Sanoma Baltics acquired a stake of the largest car portal in the region, Auto24.ee. The service is a fast growing internet community involving private advertisers and car dealers. Auto24.ee is based on user generated content including the country’s largest automotive forum, a used cars sales database plus an advertising and working environment for dealers. The online service reaches more than 1/3 of the total country population each month. Margus is a Management Board Member of Auto24.ee and in charge of the concept expansion to other markets.

Jan Webering founded mobile web experts Sevenval in 1999, where as CEO he is responsible for marketing and sales. Before he ran a web consulting firm and founded the internet start-up abea.de. He holds a law degree from the University of Cologne.

Eylard Wurpel has over fifteen years of international business experience. At the ABN AMRO Bank N.V. in the Netherlands, he served as Commercial Account Manager Business Affairs, and in Japan and Germany as a Project Manager with a focus on international business development and strategic analysis. He then worked as a Financial Analyst at the head office of PolyGram Filmed Entertainment where he was co-responsible for the global section of the monthly Financial Report for senior management, PolyGram Board and Supervisory Board. He also prepared investment applications for PFE International’s film acquisitions. As Head of Business and Commercial Development at CNBC Sports he coordinated and supervised all Internet investments, including Sportal, Sportal Asia, Global Golf and birdie.com. Currently he serves as Business Development Director for Yahoo! Netherlands where he is in charge of developing the network of distribution partners in the Netherlands…
