Ian Partington is the Managing Director of Simply Online Services Ltd (Part of Friday-Ad).

Simply Online Services Ltd operates four successful job boards in the UK specialising in Sales, Marketing, HR and New Media jobs. Originally from a recruitment agency background, Ian saw that job boards were going to be a major part of the new online world so he set up a successful engineering specific site in 1999 before moving on to set up Simply Online Services Ltd which he sold to Friday-Ad in 2006.

Ian is responsible for the sales and marketing activities of Simply Online Services Ltd as well as other businesses within the Friday-Ad group.

David has been an advertising, marketing and media professional since 1994, starting his career in press and then national radio before moving to News International, where amongst other projects; he pioneered the migration of classified advertising on the Times Education Supplement to the internet and in 1997 was appointed as the Interactive Advertising Manager for the Times Supplements Ltd. From there he moved to the first major global search engine, AltaVista, as a Senior Account Manager, looking after the online advertising requirements of leading European brands such as Lloyds TSB, Nat West, BT, BMW and Virgin Atlantic as well as managing agency relationships with many of the leading full service advertising agencies and digital specialists, such as i-level, Profero, Carat, Mediacom, Starcom and Zenith Optimedia.

He joined Spannerworks in 2003 and is the Head of Business Development for the agency, leading the new business team and presenting Spannerworks’ world leading search engine marketing, social media and strategic content solutions to major global brands. During his time at Spannerworks, the agency has grown from a team of 7 to 75 and is now part of the world’s largest search marketing agency, i-Crossing, who bought the company in February 2007 in an $80 million dollar acquisition. David is an elected fellow of the Marketing Society, a regular speaker at advertising industry events and lectures in search engine marketing for the Chartered Institute of Marketing in the UK.

From 1994-2000, he was electronic products Content Director and Founding Editor of Chron.com, website of the Hearst-owned Houston Chronicle. In 1996, it was the first paper to build and sell an online directory service. Townsend was creator of Virtual Voyager, a highly acclaimed four-year project in interactive journalism combining print, web, video and audio reporting, and converging resources from Hearst’s newspapers, magazines and feature syndicates. It was the first online newspaper to provide streaming audio and video reports, including live feeds from NASA’s space shuttles – at the US space agency’s request. The project also pioneered web-logging for reporters and non-reporters, and ship-to-shore e-mail. He was also a Senior Exec in the Chronicle’s marketing division and new business development. From 1980 to 1994, he held several positions in the Chronicle’s news room, including Chief Copy Editor, Art Director and editorial division liaison to the production and advertising divisions.

Sally Winfield, Executive Director of Loot, joined Associated Newspapers 20 years ago in the Classified Department of the Evening Standard. On top of this, there has been of course a real focus on the continued development of its website, loot.com.
