Search Lab
21 – 22 February 2008, Amsterdam

“Everything you ever wanted to know about search but were afraid to ask”

THIS EVENT HAS ALREADY TAKEN PLACE AND THEREFORE REGISTRATION IS CLOSED

ICMA is delighted to announce the Search Lab, an interactive workshop event which will focus on challenges and opportunities that search offers to classified media businesses today and tomorrow.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
The Lab is designed for senior and middle managers who want to understand what search is, why it’s important, how it works and most crucially, how they can devise and manage a search strategy which will deliver real results, be these through search engine optimisation (SEO or “natural” results), or search engine marketing (SEM or “paid” results).

WHAT WILL THE LAB COVER?
Check out the full programme of topics on the programme page.

WHO IS LEADING THE WORKSHOP?
The facilitators of the Search Lab will be search expert Maciej Galecki of Polish search consultancy Bluerank, which counts several satisfied ICMA members amongst its clients, and Peter Rees of PR Strategic Marketing Ltd, former VP Marketing of Trader Classified Media and now independent consultant and advisor to several ICMA members. Together, Maciej and Peter will bring unrivalled search expertise plus a deep knowledge of the classified media industry to the event.

WHEN DOES IT START AND END?
Starting at 11.00 on Thursday 21 February, the first day will offer 3 full sessions, broken by lunch and coffee-breaks. Networking is a key benefit of all ICMA events and so there will be a Group Dinner on the first night in a local Dutch restaurant so that everyone can continue to share information and discuss the day’s work. Friday’s 3 sessions will run from 09.00 and end at 15.30, in time to catch a flight home for the weekend, or to break early for a well-deserved weekend in Amsterdam.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
The format of the event will be informal and highly interactive. Participants will be encouraged to ask questions, challenge established views and present their own experiences, and they will have the opportunity to work in small groups as well as with all the attendees.

Attendance will be limited to 30 attendees, with no more than two from a single company to ensure broad representation and geographical diversity which will benefit all the participants.

WHERE WILL THE LAB BE HELD?
The Lab will be held in the 5* NH Barbizon Palace Hotel, centrally located just steps from Centraal Station with a direct 20 minute connection to Schiphol airport. ICMA has negotiated a great room rate of just EUR 139 per night (excluding 5% city tax and breakfast). Check on the hotel and travel page for further information. We recommend all delegates stay in the hotel to maximise networking possibilities.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Registration costs just EUR 249 for ICMA members and EUR 495 for non-members (plus VAT – reclaimable). This includes access to all the sessions, conference materials, coffee-breaks, lunches, and the Group Dinner on the Thursday night – really great value for money!
